We are currently looking for 1 individual to fill the role of PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER (LW).
Description
Platform is looking for an experienced software marketing professional to drive a set of integrated marketing activities and deliverables that will increase product visibility and drive demand in the high performance computing market.
Based on a strong understanding of market dynamics, competition and a proven ability to deliver results in cross-functional environments, the position is responsible for defining and execution of product marketing strategy for products targeted at the High Performance Computing (HPC) and Financial Services markets. This person will play a major role in developing positioning, messaging, content and competitive intelligence. This position requires an individual who can work closely and collaboratively with a cross-functional team which includes product management, business development, channel marketing, corporate marketing, sales, engineering, and support and services.
Responsibilities:
The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the following responsibilities and deliverables:
Product Positioning: Responsible for defining a product’s positioning (i.e., how we want the target market to “perceive” the product). Product positioning includes the establishment of:
- Competitive product differentiation/positioning(s)
- Unique selling propositions
- Key features and benefits
Product Marketing. Responsible for creating a go-to-market strategy and product introductory plan, as well as creation of deliverables in the following categories. This includes:
a) Collateral & sales tools development: Planning and content development of all product collateral and sales tools to all groups that needs such tools, including direct and channel sales, customers, prospects, partners, press and analysts.
b) Web content: Deliver sales information and tools via, a) Intranet website for internal sales staff, b) Extranet website for partners, and c) Internet website for end-customers.
c) Product Evaluations: Provide for and manage evaluation licenses for use at customer sites, partner sites, and marketing events.
d) Other Communications: Regularly support the direct and indirect sales teams with product information and sales tools deliverables to better enable sales to perform.
Demand Generation: Responsible to developing content for comprehensive marketing programs designed to generate demand for product targeted at the HPC and Financial Services markets. This includes direct marketing, events, and incentives or promotions. The goal of these activities is to generate two key assets for the company:
a) Brand/company awareness
b) Leads for sales; both in quantity and quality.
Product Marketing Evangelism: Responsible for product evangelism and sales training. Evangelism requires being an “expert” on the product, communicating “expertise” on the product’s positioning, benefits, and features to influencers inside and outside of the company.
Requirements:
- BA/BS required, MBA strongly preferred
- 5+ years of business experience, with a minimum of 3 years of product marketing experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the role of software in HPC and/or Financial Services datacenter environments, and how current industry trends will effect customer demand and competitive offerings
- Demonstrated success in implementing end-to-end marketing activities involving multiple products, groups, audiences and deliverables
- Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to effectively present to business and technical audiences
- Track record of influencing the product development process through customer insights, and the ability to translate user needs into marketing strategies.
- Proven success in a fast-paced, matrixed work environment and ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing and highly competitive industry.
- Leadership - ability to grow and develop quickly to build and enrich relationships with peers across the organization.
- Direct experience launching software products and managing the marketing strategy for those products.
- Ability to understand and interpret a complex competitive landscape and effectively prioritize the projects that will deliver the greatest impact on objectives.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
